SMB Wins Anew for Energy Efficiency

Plant officials of beer market leader San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) proudly show the awards they won in the recently held Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Awards (DEAEEA) 2012. This year, the multi-awarded company generated more than P126 million worth of savings in energy consumption by implementing innovative energy saving programs in its breweries nationwide. All five breweries of San Miguel located in Valenzuela, City of San Fernando, Mandaue, Bacolod and Davao were awarded by the Department of Energy officials led by Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla. San Fernando and Bacolod breweries received outstanding awards while Mandaue, Polo and Davao Breweries bagged special awards. Edwin Bioneda of Bacolod Brewery and Mariano Dayag of San Fernando Brewery were also recognized as 2012 DEAEEA Outstanding Managers. According to company President Roberto Huang, winning another year in the Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Awards clearly manifests SMB's serious commitment to its corporate value social responsibility. Every year, SMB wins in this prestigious search organized by the Department of Energy and program partners from the energy sector.
