New Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Champ
Hatankaru, the pride of Valenzuela City, emerged as the best amateur rock band in the country in the 2009 Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Rock Challenge Finals held recently in Metrowalk, Pasig City.
The band, composed of Michael Villaflores (Bass guitar), Elmer Glino (drums), Roy Elinzano (vocals) and Gilbert Pacariem (guitars), won a tax-free cash prize of P500,000 and a recording contract with Red Horse Beer after besting the four other finalists from Baguio City (2nd Squad), Naga City (Kukumban), Bacolod City (Cambronero) and Cagayan de Oro City (Hoodswhite). During the culmination of the biggest loudest and meanest amateur rock competition in the land, over 20 of the country's biggest names in Pinoy rock led by Red Horse Beer Joey "Pepe" Smith and popular bands Slapshock, Kamikazee, Greyhoundz, Radioactive Sago Project, Kjwan, Intolerant, Kapatid plus past Muziklaban winning bands Mayonnaise, Hardboiledeggz, Gayuma and Even reunited to welcome the new Muziklaban rock band champ.
